Trans-Papua Highway Agro-Forest Project

In 2003, GreenPoint began developing one of the most significant infrastructure and agro-forestry projects located in the North Fly and Middle Fly Districts of the Western Province. The Gre-Drimgas-Duara Woi Woi Falls – Trans Island Highway Road Project utilizes a landowner lease and joint venture model which will provide for the construction of approximately 600 kilometers of the Trans-Papua Highway.

Pending  final approval, the project will span over 25 years and will bring significant social and economic benefits to rural people in one of least developed areas in PNG.

These benefits include the provision of primary health care, education, agricultural crop development, transportation and trade market access, as well as increased job opportunities. GreenPoint is providing all funding for road construction and is authorized to harvest timber along the road to cover construction costs.

  • Construction of a 600 km road including culvert pipes, bridges & feeder road networks
  • Forest management services & selective timber harvesting operations

  • Reforestation/timber plantation planning and operations

  • Beneficial ownership and direct cash benefits including royalty premiums, levies and job opportunities for the area’s indigenous people

  • Forest product development and sawmill operations for downstream process to produce for finished wood products

  • Agricultural crops identification and development
