Our History
GreenPoint Resources was established in 2003 by a diverse team of successful forestry, agribusiness, and oil and gas industry experts who believed a positive change was needed in the industry. Pristine lands with exotic hardwoods and rich natural resources, such as Papua New Guinea, were ripe for development, however, foreign operators often bypassed local communities by providing few local jobs, no training, abysmal safety standards and minimal royalty incomes.
Recognizing the undeniable potential for growth, the founders also saw an opportunity to implement environmental and socially conscious practices which would benefit local governments and landowners just as much as developers. As result, GreenPoint’s founders invented the Compass Method – a revolutionary model for corporate accountability which empowers local communities through profitable projects.
With over 100 years of combined experience operating in Papua New Guinea, our comprehensive project management and consulting services provide long term social and economic benefits to Indigenous Landowner Groups (ILG), local small and medium enterprises (SME’s), and international governments.
UNLIMITED GROWTH OPPORTUNITY
Through years of collaboration with rightful landowners and government entities, GreenPoint is proud to be the first development firm to operate under the new World Bank Guidelines for sustainability in the country. With these crucial local partnerships and mutual respect for natural resources in place, we foresee a future with unlimited opportunity to benefit all stakeholders. Current operations include forestry harvesting, reforestation and community infrastructure with plans to incorporate saw milling and timber remanufacturing in the near future.
